GRACosway supports the Western Sydney Aerotropolis Summit
GRACosway was proud to support the Western Sydney Aerotropolis Summit, hosted by Business Western Sydney and Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue, marking one year until the opening of Western Sydney International Airport. The event brought together leaders from government, industry and the community to discuss the next phase of infrastructure investment, precinct development and economic growth across Western Sydney.
Our Director Sophie Hull played a central role in the Summit, serving as MC for the day and moderating the panel on skills, innovation and trade, a conversation important to the success of the Aerotropolis precinct. Almost 400 attendees gathered at Warwick Farm to hear from senior leaders shaping the future of the region.
Key Themes and Announcements
The Summit featured keynote remarks from:
- The Hon Catherine King MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government
- Josh Murray, Secretary, Transport for NSW
- Jennifer Westacott AC, Chair, Bradfield Development Authority
- Ken Morrison, Chief Executive, Bradfield Development Authority
- Simon Hickey, Chief Executive Officer, Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport
A highlight was the launch of Take Flight 2026, a joint report outlining the actions needed to maximise the benefits of the Aerotropolis. Recommendations included increased investment in nature-based tourism, a NSW visitor app, and planning reform to enable more hotel accommodation and support for the region’s visitor economy.
Delegates also welcomed the teaser launch of Liverpool, The World in One City – A Vision for Our Innovation Future, highlighting the work of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct. Key opportunities discussed included robotics and health technology, entertainment precincts, vertical education models, and the upcoming UNSW Liverpool Study Hub.
GRACosway’s involvement
Sophie moderated a panel with Larry Marshall, Don Wright and Henry Zhou, exploring what is required for the Aerotropolis to become a globally competitive innovation zone. The discussion focused on workforce capability, skills pipelines, trade pathways and ensuring the precinct attracts long-term business and investment.
Looking ahead
The Western Sydney Aerotropolis is one of Australia’s most significant economic development opportunities. The strong attendance at this year’s Summit reflected growing momentum as the region prepares for the opening of Western Sydney International Airport in 2026. GRACosway is proud to continue supporting clients with government relations, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
