Welcoming Mary Andrew, Director of Public Affairs

27 August 2021

GRACosway is thrilled to announce that Mary Andrew has been appointed as a Director of Public Affairs in our Sydney office.

Mary joins GRACosway with more than 18 years’ experience in senior roles across government and the private sector, having worked for large, multinational financial services, pharmaceutical and e-commerce companies, in the not-for-profit sector, and as a political adviser.

In a diverse career that has seen Mary work in Sweden, Denmark, India and Laos, her most recent role was Manager of Government Relations at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Australia’s corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator.

While at ASIC, Mary provided leadership throughout the implementation of a rapid and comprehensive reform agenda resulting from the Financial Services Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

“Mary’s arrival is a breath of fresh air for our Public Affairs team,” said Managing Partner – Public Affairs, Kirsten Mulley. “Her combination of political, government and consulting experience will be a real value add for clients and for our firm and we look forward to working with her across the breadth of our client portfolio.”

Mary also has a strong track record in the not-for-profit sector, currently serving as a Director of the Armadillo & Co Foundation – an organisation that provides education, health, and community structures to underprivileged communities.

She has maintained deep and trusting relationships across political parties at both state and Federal levels, placing her well to advise and support senior leadership as clients navigate complex business requirements.

“I’m excited to be working with such a diversity of people and skillsets at GRACosway. Now more than ever is it crucial to have a multifaceted approach to strategic counsel as globally we continue to face the uncertainties of COVID -19.

I’m passionate about problem solving and leading change. I look forward to supporting the GRACosway team and our clients in negotiating issues and obstacles, communicating effectively, and in providing counsel on policy and legislation with commercial and regulatory acumen. I work hard to ensure solutions are long lasting and impactful, despite invariably difficult and dynamic environments,” said Mary.
