Based in GRACosway’s Brisbane office, Brendan is a skilled corporate communicator and media relations practitioner with a decade of global experience working in issues-rich environments for a range of prominent private and listed companies.

He has a strong financial services background managing various external affairs projects in the UK for Europe’s largest bank, HSBC, along with a leading financial services company in Brisbane.

Brendan has also worked as the media manager for Australia’s national Rugby Union team, the Wallabies, and earlier at the Queensland Rugby Union.

In these roles, Brendan provided strategic counsel on a range of complex and high-profile external issues, including Brexit in the UK, while also delivering internal and external communication campaigns, stakeholder engagement programs and corporate positioning advice.

Brendan holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the Queensland University of Technology.

Max_Hewett

Max Hewett

Senior Associate

Max is based in GRACosway’s Sydney office, where he provides high-level strategic advice to a number of the firm’s clients.

Prior to joining GRACosway, Max worked at communications firm Edelman, where he specialised in issues and crisis management and corporate communications.

Max has worked on complex crisis projects including the administration of Arrium, has overseen the largest product recall in Australian history on behalf of Samsung and supported Lindt during the 2015 ‘Sydney Siege’.

Recently, Max led Alibaba Group’s market entry strategy, which included managing Jack Ma’s engagement with Australian government and media during a visit in February 2017.

More broadly, Max has created and implemented strategies for clients across diverse sectors, including GE, GPT Group, Cochlear, FedEx, Kimberly-Clark and Unilever.

Max holds a Bachelor of Public Communication from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Jack

Jack Gordon

Jack is based in GRACosway’s Sydney office and supports a number of the firm’s clients across a wide range of corporate and financial communications issues.

Prior to joining GRACosway, Jack worked at advertising and public relations agencies Clemenger BBDO and Porter Novelli, where he assisted with providing highly targeted and commercially nuanced communications strategies to clients with interests spanning various sectors. Jack has also previously worked as part of a communications team for a Federal Senator.

Jack holds a Bachelor of Media (Communications and Journalism) from the University of NSW, and a Master of Strategic Public Relations from the University of Sydney.

Jonathan 2

Jonathan Costello

Based in GRACosway’s Sydney office, Jonathan specialises in building, maintaining and protecting the reputations of Australian companies. He has extensive experience advising clients in the technology, retail and FMCG sectors.

Prior to joining GRACosway, Jonathan spent two years at PR agency Edelman, where he managed proactive and reactive communications for Amazon, PayPal, HP, Juniper Networks, and Unilever.

Notable projects Jonathan has worked on include Amazon’s Australian market entry, the launch of Amazon Prime and Amazon’s move to restrict Australian access to its international marketplaces following changes to the application of GST.

Jonathan also worked on the development of PayPal’s award-winning thought leadership campaign, the PayPal mCommerce Index, and supported a major FMCG on potential industrial action.

Jonathan previously spent a year working on internal communications at Rio Tinto’s Australian aluminum subsidiary, Pacific Aluminum.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Public Relations) from the Queensland University of Technology.

Prior to joining the firm, Erin worked in the legal industry where she gained class action experience in the financial sector. She has also previously worked as a legal editor at a compliance and risk management company.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) from the University of Melbourne, a Juris Doctor from RMIT University and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law. She is currently completing a Master of Laws at Monash University, and volunteers in the pro bono legal sector.

Prior to joining the firm, Liam was a research assistant in the office of the Mayor of the City of Botany Bay. He has also worked for a NSW Transport Minister and as an electorate officer for a NSW State MP.

Liam holds a Bachelor of Arts (Ancient and Modern History) from Macquarie University.

Alyssa Patterson

Prior to joining GRACosway, Alyssa worked in a public affairs role for an industry association where she gained experience in research and issues management.

Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Science from the University of Sydney and is currently completing her Master’s in Law and International Development at the University of Sydney.

Prior to joining the firm, Jordi worked in the high-tech industry in Tel Aviv, where she gained experience in the world of start-ups. She has also previously worked as a policy adviser for the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and in the Electorate Office of a Federal Member of Parliament.

Jordi holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, with Majors in Politics and History and a Diploma of Event Management.
