A new industry body for the government relations sector

 

The Australian Professional Government Relations Association (APGRA) has been established by a group of like-minded practitioners to promote the highest standards of practice in the Australian government relations sector. The APGRA will uphold standards for the profession, ensuring ethical practice and transparency are maintained.

GRACosway is pleased to be a founding member of the Association alongside a number of other longstanding professional consulting firms.

“GRACosway believes the APGRA will play an important role in representing practitioners across Australia, and in the continuing evolution of the profession,” says CEO, Les Timar.

Membership of the APGRA is open to consulting as well as in-house government relations practitioners across the country and will centre around a Code of Conduct, which will complement the existing Commonwealth and state Lobbying Codes of Conduct.

As it evolves, the Association plans to implement a range of education programs, including an annual outreach program focused on developing stakeholder understanding of the important role the government relations sector plays in the political and policy process.
